…and here’s how to care for yourself when it moves through you

We often talk about anger as if it’s just a feeling — but it’s so much more. Anger is a bio-chemical process. Hormones surge, blood pressure rises, breath shortens, the liver gets activated, and the whole body prepares for battle.
But what happens when we don't fight or flee?
That anger — that fire — often gets stored in the body.
So when you begin doing healing practices like Kundalini Yoga, Breathwork, or Sadhana to alchemize your anger, stuck energy starts to move. And when it does — be gentle with yourself. 🙏🏼
Here are 7 powerful things you can do to support yourself through the release of stored or suppressed anger:

💛 1. Hot Tea

A cup of herbal tea can be like a soft hug for your nervous system. Choose calming herbs like chamomile, lemon balm, tulsi, or fennel. Sip slowly. Let it soothe your inner fire.

💧 2. Hot Water

Plain hot or warm water helps flush the liver and supports digestion — two organs deeply affected by anger. Drink small sips throughout the day to support your body's detox process.

🌿 3. Dandelion Tea

Dandelion is your liver’s best friend. Anger tends to live in the liver — and dandelion helps release that tension and cool the internal fire. Try it once a day during emotional detox periods.

🌬️ 4. Sitali / Shitali Pranayama

This ancient cooling breath literally soothes your inner heat.
Roll your tongue like a straw (or make an “O” shape with your lips) and breathe in cool air, exhaling slowly through your nose.
Do this for 3–5 minutes to feel the shift.

🔥 5. Breath of Fire

Once you’re grounded, Breath of Fire helps move the anger out.
It activates the diaphragm, stimulates the navel center, and allows for deep energetic release.
Do it for 1–3 minutes — short, powerful bursts.
(Avoid if pregnant or menstruating.)

💃 6. Shake It Out — or Dance!

When animals are stressed, they shake to release adrenaline. You can too!
Try Thandava, the ancient, primal Shiva dance — or just jump, stomp, move your arms wildly. Movement is medicine for releasing trapped emotion.

☀️ 7. Sit in the Sunlight

Anger is fire — the Sun is the original fire.
Sit with it. Let your skin feel the warmth and your heart feel the light.
Take care to avoid overexposure or sunburn. A few minutes a day is plenty to reconnect with natural radiance.

🌕 “Anger is the red flag of the soul — not a problem, but a pointer. Let it guide you to the part of yourself that’s asking for truth, boundaries, or healing.”
Let’s stop shaming anger — and start healing it.
And if you’re ready to go deeper…
